Helping Travelers Every Day: Meet On Call’s Supervisors Team!

On Call’s dedicated and compassionate Team of Supervisors work closely with our Assistance Coordinators – right on the front lines of our Global Response Center — to fulfill our mission of helping travelers in need, every day. Whether it’s a medical emergency, extreme weather, or even a more common issue like a missed flight, On Call’s Supervisors help ensure our traveler’s problems are resolved as quickly as possible and that they feel safe and supported every step of the way. This blog feature serves as a way for you to ‘meet’ the kind faces on the other side of the phone (or keyboard!) and give you an inside look at On Call’s culture. Introducing Audrey, Karen, and Amanda from On Call’s Supervisors Team😊

Audrey McArthur

A Little About You:
I started my career with On Call in 2016 as an Assistance Coordinator. I was born and raised in Orlando, FL where I still reside. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people and just enjoying life in general! My favorite activity is karaoke, and I enjoy singing, getting the crowd involved and cheering on the other participants – I make a good Karaoke back up dancer as well!

Why This Job Is So Meaningful:
I enjoy helping people—it is who I am, it comes natural to me. Working at On Call doesn’t just feel like a job that I have to work for financial reasons, it is rewarding and fulfilling to know that I have made a difference in someone’s life, big or small.

A Little About You:
I’ve been working at On Call for almost 9 years. I was born in the Boston area (yes, I still have my accent!) and I currently live in Southern NH with my husband of almost 25 years, two children ages 22 and 19, and our 4 cats. When I am not working I enjoy going to concerts with my daughter, movies with my son, batting cages, and hiking – I also love tattoos and Boston Bruins hockey!

Why This Job Is So Meaningful:
Every day here at On Call is different, you never know what it will bring! We have such a unique opportunity to assist travelers all over the world. I love the way everyone here at On Call works together as a team to help our travelers in their time of need. Knowing we have made an impact in a traveler’s life is so rewarding.

Amanda Schimp

A Little About You:
I am originally from Northern Michigan, but I have lived in Orlando Florida since 2012. I worked in the hotel industry when I first moved to Orlando, then in May of 2016, I started my journey with On Call. I have a mini Australian shepherd who is my ‘right-hand man’ and with whom I enjoy playing countless hours of fetch, swimming and hiking. Besides hanging with my pup, I enjoy cooking, baking, traveling and wine tasting.

Why This Job Is So Meaningful:
I love what I do at On Call and knowing when I leave for the day I have contributed, even if in just a small way, to make someone’s life easier or perhaps less scary and chaotic. I thrive on knowing what I do each day makes a difference in the lives of people around me.
